Eindrücke von Marcus Wüst auf seiner Langeland Reise:

Dear EFSA SC delegates and section secretaries,

Some of you will have seen the following note from EFSA Ireland on social media already:

After much deliberation and with heavy hearts the Executive of EFSA Ireland have unfortunately been forced into the decision that the 2020 Shore Championships scheduled for October in Wexford must be cancelled. This has come about due to several occurrences including the cancellation of the Dublin City Marathon planned for the same week and the Government advisory that non residents entering the country will/may be required to self isolate for 14 days effective until the end of the year.
EFSA Ireland will endeavour to run the event in 2021. Information on this will be advised as soon as it is available.

The new proposal is to hold the Shore Championships 2021 at the above mentioned venue. The dates would be from September 29th to October 2nd, i.e. to have the Shore Championship in the week following the Boat Championships. This effectively means 2 weeks in Ireland for those who participate in both disciplines.

HQ is very grateful to section Ireland for putting forward this proposal. Unless a majority of sections comes back with negative feedback we would like to ask section Ireland to go ahead with their preparations.

Overview of future championships:

  • Shore championships  2021 Ireland, 2022 Wales and 2023 Netherlands.
  • Boat championships  2021 Ireland, 2022 Denmark and 2023 South Africa.
  • Game championships 2021 Cape Verde, section Netherlands.
  • Species championships 2021 Iceland and 2022 England.

Regards and tight lines

Marcus
